The several accidents suffered by the piece as it was cast in polyester, such as blisters, chipping, and cracks, are marked with adhesive tape which signal the colour in which it should be touched up. The blemishes are doused in tyrene monomer so they become sticky, and then we proceed to repair them, either with liquid or pixotropic resin, or, in the large blemishes, with fibreglass. We file it to give it the desired shape, sandpaper it, and finally finish it off with thick polishing paste.
