21. Av. Pedro de Mendoza 1835
Pedro de Mendoza School and Quinquela Martín Museum. In 1933, Benito Quinquela Martín donated a lot in order to construct a building to house a primary school, a museum of Argentine art, and his own house and atelier, today integrated into the museum. The painter himself decorated the classrooms with murals. The museum collection, which rests on the third floor, was started by Quinquela Martín himself and includes a lot of his own work and that of other artists. On house number 1821 of the same street, the Teatro de la Ribera is also founded by Quinquela. It opened in 1971, with a sitting capacity for 700 spectators, and like the school, the murals were painted by this same artist.
