Antonio Berni

Sensible to renewals, Berni devoted to the reconducting of their contents, experimenting with those modes which could keep the contemporaneity of his own expressive approaches. As an answer to needs for change of a frantic 20th century, he modernized painting, investigated on the possibilities of murals, developed the collage and the art of the object, he transformed the engraving and ventured into multimedia installations and computing art.
Berni tenaciously took part of the artistic debate of his time —with his work as well as with his words, from the speaker tribune or from the pages of his articles and essays. The practice of a critical consciousness associated with the sensitiveness of a poet stands today in a legacy which clearly shows through his work.
