On 5th September, a retrospective of his work, Norberto Gómez... eight years... , opens at the Centro Cultural Recoleta premises of the Museo Eduardo Sívori. This exhibition revisits the cycle of works that, while examining the desperate awareness of the fragility of life, bears witness to a specific period of Argentine history. The sets made from 1978 onwards are still moving, and amongst them one can see big pieces such as Who Am I?, Wires and Animal. Following this exhibition he donates Monstrance, Basin and Whip (1984) to the collection of the museum.
At the time, some of his works were in storage in the basement of the Parakultural, a legendary venue for experimental and underground artistic expression. Omar Viola used Whip at a performance in which he represented the Stations of the Cross, carrying Gómez’s piece as if it were a cross.
In October, the exhibition Plástica Argentina. Selección de obras de la Colección Citibank (“Argentine Arts. A Selection of Works from the Citibank Collection”) opens once again at the Museo
