This dossier covers forty years of Norberto Gómez’s work, from his minimalist constructions of 1966 and 1967 to the anti-monuments he produced in polyester and bronze in the nineties. In between, his series of “guts”, organic remains, weapons and “plasters” punctuate a long career that has enriched the Argentine art scene.
2002
The Konex Foundation awards him the Diploma de Mérito a las Artes Visuales in sculpture for the period 1992-1996. He is also awarded the Leonardo Prize for the body of his work, set up by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.
In November, along with 180 artists from 46 countries, 27 of whom are Argentines, he is invited to take part in the Buenos Aires Biennial Exhibition, organised by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, to coincide with the Jornadas de la Crítica.
