Drawing of Martín Fierro
Drawing of Martín Fierro, performed by Berni on the wall of the smelting shop

poems by Rodolfo Relman. He performed the scenery for Eduardo Rovner’s play Último premio. The magazine Artinf published his article “La extrema vanguardia”.
With El coronel, a work of 1964, he took part in 19th and 20th Century Latin American Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in New York.
Due to a domestic accident, Berni died on October 13, in Buenos Aires. Shortly after, at Plaza Kennedy in the nearby suburban city of San Martín, the equestrian sculpture Martín Fierro, on which he was working, was inaugurated. When his death occurred, the work was almost finished. The task was completed under the supervision of the artist Enio Iommi, who had recommended Berni the metallurgical shop where he used to perform his own works, and which finally carried out the piece.
