Waste materials and thick painting layers outstand in La luna y su eco, Mañana helada en páramo desierto and El carnaval de Juanito Laguna.
The subject La cocina popular prevailed in the works presented at Galería H, Buenos Aires. The critic Rafael Squirru observed in the catalog: “The kitchen tools he shows us now leak out the cheap fat of the meals handled there; at times the oil can leans out with them uttering a bulky hymn of fries or salad. These are not the Waldorf Astoria’s saucepans, a callous hand manipulates them, a hand that is a call for attention for those who live without shaking it”. Other paintings with the subject of shantytowns, and collages and temperas were included.
Berni took part in Cinco Maestros de la Pintura Argentina at the Opera Theater Art Gallery, together with Batlle Planas, Ducmelic, Gambartes and Soldi. He was awarded the Premio Senado de la Nación at the XLIX Salón Nacional by Monte santiagueño.
