This dossier covers forty years of Norberto Gómez’s work, from his minimalist constructions of 1966 and 1967 to the anti-monuments he produced in polyester and bronze in the nineties. In between, his series of “guts”, organic remains, weapons and “plasters” punctuate a long career that has enriched the Argentine art scene.

He holds his first one-man exhibition, entitled Geometries, at the Arte Nuevo gallery in Buenos Aires. For the most part, he shows structures formed by circles, rectangles, squares and triangles, combined with reliefs and fretwork which suggest dynamic progressions, like film frames. The influence of kinetic art is apparent, although Gómez prefers to remain within static visual arts and to proceed by suggestion, without employing real movement.
He is shortlisted for the Ver y Estimar prize, hosted by the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires.
