This dossier covers forty years of Norberto Gómez’s work, from his minimalist constructions of 1966 and 1967 to the anti-monuments he produced in polyester and bronze in the nineties. In between, his series of “guts”, organic remains, weapons and “plasters” punctuate a long career that has enriched the Argentine art scene.
1999
His work is exhibited in La memoria de la ciudad (The City’s Memory), at the Centro Cultural Recoleta, which presents a selection of thirty pieces form the Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires collection. It features, among others, the following artists: Fader, Thibon de Libian, Del Prete, Castagnino, Hlito, Kemble, Testa, Kosice, Aizenberg, Deira, Le Parc, Noé, de la Vega, Macció, Benedit, Minujín, García Uriburu and Marcia Schvartz.
He also takes part in the megashow Siglo XX. Arte y cultura (20th Century. Art and Culture), which takes up the whole of the Centro Cultural Recoleta and covers the main lines of 20th century Argentine art.
