Berni obtained the Stimulus Award at the VIII Salón de Otoño de Rosario, being members of the jury Alfredo Guido, Emilio Ortiz Grognet and Emilia Bertolé. For the occasion he presented Portrait, Otoño (Capilla del Monte) and Atardecer.
He took part of the XV Salón Nacional. The Comisión Municipal de Bellas Artes acquired El vallecito (Capilla del Monte), of 1924, for the Museo "Juan B. Castagnino" de Rosario, being it Berni’s first work to integrate this collection.
On advise of Alfredo Guido he decided to intensify his art studies in Europe. A fellowship from his city’s Jockey Club allowed him to achieve this and, after disembarking at Vigo, Spain, he headed to Madrid where he arrived on November 15. There he attended El Ateneo, an institution which promoted modern art. He visited Toledo, Granada, Sevilla, Segovia and Córdoba.
