Sketch made in Santiago del Estero
Sketch made in
Santiago del Estero

La marcha de los cosecheros, La comida and Los hacheros are some of the large tempera compositions which formed the Santiago del Estero series. The cautious suffering these works transude couterpointed the horror scattered by the destructive flying monsters in Bombardeo. Another allegation against violence was seen in El obrero caído, where the dove of peace appeared again and where Berni slightly reintroduced collage through the paper lace edging the coffin’s head.
At the Museo de Bellas Artes of Santiago del Estero he delivered the lecture “La pintura, su técnica y elementos esenciales. Panorama de la pintura actual”. In San Antonio de Areco, province of Buenos Aires, he compiled local types and landscapes to be used in his work.
