The dossier on Juan Carlos Distéfano spans from the time of his beginnings
as a painter to his recent works as a sculptor, a first for the CVAA. It covers
over forty years of his work and his commitment to art and reality. A special section offers a view on his work as a graphic designer, which he carried out mostly at the Di Tella Institute.

Between 3 and 27 October, a retrospective of his work is shown at Fundación San Telmo curated by Daniel Martínez. It includes 38 works of reliefs, sculptures and drawings corresponding to the period 1967-1986. In the catalogue, the artist dedicates the exhibition to Emilio Renart, who had died a short time before. At the same time– between 9 October and 2 November – an individual exhibition takes place at Ruth Benzacar gallery. He shows reliefs made between 1965 and 1967 such as Monday Man, Homage, Cavalcade, In fire, In the earth, In the rain and Police Chronicle, apart from the sculptures Give and take, On her knees II, Floater II, First Flight Attempt, Vase Broken in 1890 and the more recent The Voyeur and A small escape.
A book dedicated to his work is published around the same time, with a detailed study by Elba Pérez, edited by the Tornquist-Credit Lyonnais bank.
Fundación Antorchas purchases On a road II (1980) and the drawing Ladders (1967) to be donated to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.
