This chronology documents the main events that took place in and around the La Boca neighborhood, and describes the artists who developed their work from the end of the XIX century to the mid century 1950’s.
Towards the end of the XVIII century, La Boca del Riachuelo was a deserted extension of land, and due to its flooded terrain it was covered by lagoons and dense vegetation. At that time, there were no means of transport that reached that river front land. In 1856, a new transportation line powered by horse connected Plaza Victoria with La Boca.
