As a commemoration of the birth of Antonio Berni (1905-1981) we offer a broad panorama of his life and his production. Through a thematic study, a chronology and several reproductions and documentary images, we travel across the work of this remarkable creator, one of the most outstanding artists in Argentina and Latin America.

Making sketches and taking photographs, he went through Oruro, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Arequipa, Lima, Guayaquil, Quito, and Bogotá. During these journeys he lectured about “Las diversas técnicas de la pintura moderna” (La Paz) and “La pintura mural en América y mi experiencia con el pintor Siqueiros” (Bogotá). Buenos Aires’ daily La Prensa published his articles “El pintor colonial Melchor Pérez de Holguín”, “El arte de la época colonial - Gorivar un pintor quiteño” and “Cuatro pintores peruanos”. In Rosario’s newspaper La Capital was published “La ciudad de La Paz”.
He presented in the XXXII Salón Nacional Mercado indígena and La dama sentada, also known as Cecilia or La dama de la flor, portrait of Cecilia Benedit de De Benedetti, founder of the first Argentine modern music printing house.
