As a commemoration of the birth of Antonio Berni (1905-1981) we offer a broad panorama of his life and his production. Through a thematic study, a chronology and several reproductions and documentary images, we travel across the work of this remarkable creator, one of the most outstanding artists in Argentina and Latin America.

He presented the lecture “La pintura mural en América”, in the cycle Arte y Cultura popular organized by the Universidad de Montevideo, Uruguay, and he published in Buenos Aires’ daily La Prensa “La escultura quiteña de la época colonial”.
At the XXXIII Salón Nacional he obtained the Acquisition Award with Lily. He also exhibited on that occasion La siesta.
Actress Eva Franco’s company presented at the Politeama Theater in Buenos Aires the piece El carnaval del diablo by Juan Oscar Ponferrada, work for which Berni realized the stage scenery. He also painted, at the building of the Sociedad Hebraica Argentina, the mural Los grandes músicos de todos los tiempos, matching another one performed by Urruchúa. Together with this artist they also decorate a private building at Juan B. Justo and Corrientes avenues, Buenos Aires.
Together with other three of his works acquired by The Museum of Modern Art of New York, Club Atlético Nueva Chicago is exhibited in The Latin-American Collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
