During the restoration of
the murals in Galerías Pacífico

Spoiled out of moisture, the murals in Galerías Pacífico were repaired by Berni and Urruchúa. Besides taking each one care of his own, they restored, respectively, those of Castagnino and Spilimbergo the former and those of Colmeiro, the latter.
Invited to the Encuentro Iberoamericano de Críticos y Artistas Plásticos in Caracas, Berni pronounced “Visión sobre el arte actual”, a paper published in Buenos Aires in the issue N° 5 of Arte Múltiple.
He painted La espera, where again he used, as in Los hippies or Los maniquíes vivientes, gray colors to treat the figure of the consumer-desirant, counterpoising the polychromy of a universe prepared for selling. As a complementary reply to this expression he made collages like Juanito ciruja or Juanito Laguna y la aeronave, where the leftovers of the society of consumption are the unique resort available in the marginality.
He took part as special guest in Arte Argentino 78, organized by the Asociación Argentina de Críticos de Arte at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, with Casamiento '70.
