The dossier on Juan Carlos Distéfano spans from the time of his beginnings
as a painter to his recent works as a sculptor, a first for the CVAA. It covers
over forty years of his work and his commitment to art and reality. A special section offers a view on his work as a graphic designer, which he carried out mostly at the Di Tella Institute.

For us who were just starting out, the award Ver y Estimar was very stimulating; it allowed us to show our attempts with the prestige of having been chosen by a group of people of renown careers.
[...] In these peculiar spheres, traditionally reserved for the renowned artists, the irruption of young artists with different approaches, [...], still in their infancy, created an effervescent climate to which the public responded very favourably.
[...] The work of Ver y Estimar was vitally important for us. It showed us with courage and no prejudices; it encouraged us in our beginnings and discouraged us (the ones who did not receive prizes); both the encouragement and discouragement helped to show us our paths. It tested our need to devote ourselves to art on a scene with few possibilities, but in which, however, the generous space of Ver y Estimar was always on a par with our efforts and talents. And from then on, the adventure began”. Nota 8
