The dossier on Juan Carlos Distéfano spans from the time of his beginnings
as a painter to his recent works as a sculptor, a first for the CVAA. It covers
over forty years of his work and his commitment to art and reality. A special section offers a view on his work as a graphic designer, which he carried out mostly at the Di Tella Institute.

Con sus hijos Andrea y Lucas
With his children
Andrea and Lucas

With his family and his old Citroën that he had taken with him on the ship from Argentina, he travels around France, Spain, Holland, among other European regions. During this trip, he also becomes in touch with the Italian experimental theatre of Carmelo Bene and Luca Ronconi.
In Italy, he sees how European artists give up painting because they feel that the work of art does not change anything fundamental. But he keeps on painting to get to know himself and to get to know others; painting becomes a need. He comments on that: “It is a matter of faith, as it is to believe in God.” Nota 16
He designs the titles for the film Invasión (Invation), directed by Hugo Santiago, based on a story by Bioy Casares.
From 17 to 30 November, he participates in the show Panorama de la pintura 3 (Painting prospect 3) organised by the Fundación Lorenzutti at the Salas Nacionales de Exposición (Palais de Glace) with Struggle and Cavalcade. In the catalogue, his works are reviewed by the critic Aldo Pellegrini.
