La Unión is founded in La Boca, a catholic publication encouraged by Antonio F. Molinari. It was bought afterwards by Celestino Fernández and Guillermo Tallon, and it changed to La Actualidad (Current Events). Under this denomination it appears three times a month, covering topics such as art, literature and current events. Towards 1917, it trespasses the limits of La Boca, to set up in the Barracas neighborhood.
