Agrupación Gente de Arte y Letras La Peña
La Peña

On May 12, the Agrupación de Gente de Arte y Letras La Peña is founded at La Cosechera bar, located on Avenida de Mayo and Perú St. Habitues were Quinquela Martín, Juan de Dios Filiberto, the illustrator Luis Macaya and the sculptor Luis Perlotti, among others. As meetings became more and more populous, the owner of Café Tortoni (the French man Pedro Curuchet) offers them an ample place at the basement below the coffee shop. Important cultural events and exhibits by Emilio Pettoruti, Xul Solar, Eugenio Daneri, Agustín Riganelli and Pablo Curatella Manes, among others, are held there until 1943.
On December 7, the Ateneo Popular de La Boca is founded.
Juan Del Petre makes his first exhibit in Amigos del Arte). Presumably, it exhibits landscapes of La Boca, among other motives.
