Jose Arato, Adolfo Bellocq, Guillermo Facio Hébequer, Abraham Vigo, Santiago Palazzo and Agustín Riganelli, comprise the group that later takes the name of Artistas del Pueblo. In opposition to the conservative tendencies of the Salón Nacional, the group organises the first Refused Salon at the Cooperativa Artística, a shop devoted to making frames and selling drawing articles, located at 655 Corrientes Avenue.
Fernando Fader paints Los mantones de Manila, which is awarded the Acquisition Prize at the IV Salón Nacional, a distinction that the artist rejects.
Coming from Rosario, Augusto Schiavoni and Domingo Candia settle in Florence to continue their studies.
