This page offers a panorama of Argentine visual art during the 20 th Century. It comprises a brief overview across the period through twelve paradigmatic works, a chronology which shows the main artistic events of the period and a scheme presenting the various groups and trends supported by illustrations.

Three exhibitions vindicate the pleasure of painting in accordance with international trends that react against the imposition of new ideas and the supremacy of conceptual art:
(1) Grupo IIIII, at CAYC, which includes works by Guillermo Kuitca, Osvaldo Monzo, Pablo Bobbio, Ernestro Bertani and Miguel Melcom.
(2) The Anavanguardia, at Giesso Studio, organize by Carlos Espartaco with paintings by Rafael Bueno, Kuitca, Alfredo Prior, Armando Rearte and Enrique Ubertone.
(3) La nueva imagen, at Galería del Buen Ayre, presented by Jorge Glusberg, with works by Berni, Bobbio, Bueno, Cambre, Castilla, Deira, de la Vega, Eckell, Kemble, Kuitca, Macció, Méndez Casariego, Monzo, Noé, Juan Pablo Renzi and Wells.
