This page offers a panorama of Argentine visual art during the 20 th Century. It comprises a brief overview across the period through twelve paradigmatic works, a chronology which shows the main artistic events of the period and a scheme presenting the various groups and trends supported by illustrations.

Macció, Deira, Noé and de la Vega, together with Sameer Makarius and Carolina Muchnik, open Otra Figuración, the first exhibition by the New Figuration group at Galería Peuser.
Alberto Greco presents his exhibition, Las monjas, at Pizarro gallery. At the end of that year, he travels again to Europe.
Luis Wells exhibits his reliefs and objects at Galería Lirolay. Rubén Santantonín holds his exhibition Collages y cosas and Arte Destructivo opens with Kemble, Jorge López Anaya, Barilari, Antonio Seguí, Wells, Silvia Torras and Roiger. Projected as a collective work, it is the first installation shown in the country.
Antonio Berni exhibits collages at Galería Witcomb on the subject of Juanito Laguna. In 1962, he obtains the Drawing and Engraving Prize at the Venice Biennial with works from this series.
