This page offers a panorama of Argentine visual art during the 20 th Century. El arte de los argentinos, a monumental book by José León Pagano which, in three illustrated volumes, covers our artistic history since the pre-Hispanic period, is finally published.
Amigos del Arte organises Emilio Pettoruti's first retrospective exhibition. His painting, El improvisador is acquired by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.
Lacámera creates the Agrupación Gente de Arte Impulso in La Boca.
Sculptor, Pablo Curatella Manes, starts his abstract investigations on the idea of a "Mother structure".
Xul Solar opens a solo exhibition at Amigos del Arte. Jorge Luis Borges, who has been a close friend of the artist, is one of the few buyers.
