A set of pieces belonging to the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires –private institution organised by Marcos Curi, dissolved nowadays– among which is his work Watching Them Go by (1980) is selected for the show that is presented at the Capelli-Centoira gallery.
For his participation in the series of shows Encuentros entre un artista y su memoria, organised by Unión Carbide, Distéfano chooses his teachers Luis Barragán and Aurelio Macchi, to whom he dedicates emotional texts of appreciation. In this exhibition, he includes an early drawing, a typical academic study, Nude, a sanguine from 1954, and his sculptures on polyester Spider’s Web, Nude. Jump, a sanguine, silverpoint and acrylic paint on paper, is selected for the Sección Dibujo (Drawing Section) of the II Salón de Artes Plásticas Navarro Correas that takes place at the Museo Nacional de Buenos Aires.
In September, he takes part in Escultura III (Sculpture lll), show organised in the Galería Del Buen Ayre by the Asociación Argentina de Críticos de Arte within the Jornadas Internacionales de la Crítica. Apart from Distéfano, Badii, Bedel, Gerstein, Gómez, Velasco, Heredia, Iommi, Marotta, Minujín, Paparella, Portillos, Sabelli and Wells are also invited, among others.
