Art critic Aldo Pellegrini founds the Artistas Modernos de la Argentina group, including, among others, Maldonado, Prati, Hlito, Iommi and Girola and younger artists such as Miguel Ocampo, José Fernández Muro and Sarah Grilo. They stick to geometry although some members are contaminated by free abstraction.
The first exhibition of the group 20 painters and sculptors –including Américo Balán, Fernando López Anaya, Líbero Badíi, Julian Althabe, Noemí Gerstein, Magda Frank, Naum Knop, Juan C. Labourdette, Luis and Julio Barragán, Oscar Capristo, Luis Centurión, Vicente Forte, Aurelio Macchi, Febo Martí, Rafael Onetto, Orlando Pierri, Bruno Venier, etc.– is held at Galería Müller.
A retrospective exhibition of Vitullo's work is organised at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris.
