Galería Antígona rejects the exhibition of monochrome paintings proposed by Alberto Greco and accepts his informalist gouaches instead.
Jorge López Anaya, Jorge Martin, Mario Valencia, as well as Nicholás Rubió and Vera Zilzer as guests, set up the exhibition ¿Qué cosa es el coso?, in which works close to the Dadaist spirit are shown, announcing the emergence of the local Informalist movement.
The Siete Pintores Abstractos group is formed by Rómulo Macció, Clorindo Testa, Marta Peluffo, Víctor Chab, Josefina Robirosa, Kasuya Sakai and Osvaldo Borda. In 1958, they join the international Phases movement through the Boa magazine, directed by poet and critic, Julio Llinás.
