The dossier on Juan Carlos Distéfano spans from the time of his beginnings
as a painter to his recent works as a sculptor, a first for the CVAA. It covers
over forty years of his work and his commitment to art and reality. A special section offers a view on his work as a graphic designer, which he carried out mostly at the Di Tella Institute.

His work is selected to take part in the exhibition Berni y sus contemporáneos. Correlatos (Berni and his contemporaries. Correlations), which opens on 11 March at Malba (Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires), as a tribute to the centenary of Berni’s birth. Curated by Adriana Lauria, the show aimed at throwing into relief a series of dialogues between the master from Rosario and other Argentine artists such as Juan Del Prete, Lino Enea Spilimbergo, Raquel Forner, Antonio Sibellino, Kenneth Kemble, Mario Pucciarelli, Alberto Greco, Jorge de la Vega, Luis Felipe Noé, Ernesto Deira, Rómulo Macció, Alberto Heredia, Líbero Badii, Emilio Renart, Norberto Gómez, Oscar Bony, Pablo Suárez and Marcia Schvartz. The exhibition was organised around themes, such as “The triumph of death”, which feature Distéfano’s The Little Truck from Dock Sud II (1996/97), whereas Floater II (1988) was exhibited under the theme called “Contemporary Calvaries”.
From December to March the following year two preliminary sketches of Jump are exhibited at the Malba, alter the Fundación Antorchas donates them to the museum for an exhibition comprising only donated pieces.
