The dossier on Juan Carlos Distéfano spans from the time of his beginnings
as a painter to his recent works as a sculptor, a first for the CVAA. It covers
over forty years of his work and his commitment to art and reality. A special section offers a view on his work as a graphic designer, which he carried out mostly at the Di Tella Institute.

On 9 February, a notice signed by Distéfano, Griselda Gambaro and 8319 other artists and intellectuals from all over the world appears in the newspaper Página/12, asking the president of Uruguay, Jorge Luis Battle, to lend his support to the inquiry into the disappearance of María Claudia, Juan Gelman’s daughter in law, who was kidnapped with her husband in Buenos Aires in 1976 and murdered in Montevideo in 1977, after her baby daughter, born while she was held captive, was taken away from her (Gelman re-established contact with her).
