The dossier on Juan Carlos Distéfano spans from the time of his beginnings
as a painter to his recent works as a sculptor, a first for the CVAA. It covers
over forty years of his work and his commitment to art and reality. A special section offers a view on his work as a graphic designer, which he carried out mostly at the Di Tella Institute.

On 2 August he has a solo exhibition in the two showrooms of the Galería Ruth Benzacar. On the ground floor he exhibits The Illuminated I (2000) and The Illuminated II (2000-2002), Simultaneously II (2002), his projected piece for Parque de la Memoria de Buenos Aires, Received with grace (1999), The Word Bearer (2005-2006) and sketches of some of the above pieces. In the basement he shows a monumental group of nine pieces, Kinderspelen (2004-2006), a work that Distéfano dedicates to the sculptor from Mendoza Eliana Molineli, who died in 2004 and who “campaigned, through her art, for disarmament and living peacefully, as part of a programme producing sculptures with the weapons and ammunition surrendered by the civil population to the provincial government”, Nota 38 and whose initiative inspires this work which includes guns recovered by the aforementioned campaign. On 17 August, the exhibition is declared “of cultural interest” by the government.
